Melia was the perfect vacation. The food in all the restaurants was good and we took advantage of the opportunities to eat in the Italian, the Cuban and the International restaurant during our stay. We enjoyed all of them. Food in the main buffet restaurant was good with plenty of variety. In the bars the service was very good and drinks came up very quickly. Everything worked in the room and was extremely clean. Our chambermaid did an outstanding job of servicing the room and left us new towel animals daily. The grounds of the resort are beautiful and well kept. Overall this is an excellent resort if you're looking for peace and quiet away from the kids.
Remember to tip the staff well! They work very hard to ensure you're happy with your vacation.

I experienced one of the best holidays I have ever had. On arrival, the staff was very attentive and polite, The room they gave me was fantastic, large clean bright and so well equipped. The first meal I had there at the buffet was steak and lobster tails cooke right there for me and was totally delicious. The service was impecable and the surroundings were superb. The bar staff at the various bars were just fantastic and would go out of theitheir way for me. The beach was wonderful, All the restaurants wer amaazing, the food, service et al was fantastic. I really hated to leave after my stay, but will be going back next March with my wife. The reason she did not accompany me was she is nervous of flying and hates heat. When I explained that the weather is really fanrtastic and if she got a littl hot, there is always the well airconditioned room to escape to. In closing the overall experience at Melia was beyond pleasurable. It was a little piece of heaven. A big thamks to all of the staff for making my stay a most memorable one.

We stayed from the o8th- 15th of May 2011. We thought that heaven was on earth while We were there. Not one complaint, food is excellent and varied, staff are pleasant and always willing to help you in anyway possible. The beach is nice and clean and for the tourists they are just like one big family everybody seems to enjoy mixing and talking to strangers and making friends. So I would recommend this site as one of the best in Cuba. Hola

Excellent friendly & welcoming staff, from guest services, to the kitchen staff & grounds-keepers.
Did not want to leave at the end of our week's stay.

I absolutely recommend this resort. Everything is close. The food is great and nicely surprising (orange yogurt, banana-maple crepe, beach house grill...). It was nice and warm in March. Pool pleasant enough. Beach was close and handy, but nice that you could walk to next door Sol beach too for an excursion - it's quite spectacular to walk the low tide. Lots of entertainment. Audaces de Hoy is a most pleasant Cuban quartet with great vocal harmonies, playing at the beach house restaurant at lunch. The music in the lobby bar was mostly good although could use more danceable cuban music, and encouragement for the audience to do some latin dancing - why are people so shy??? The activity crew was great - encouraging guests to participate in dance lessons, volleyball in the pool, yoga, etc... Those girls are the best - and really made it fun - guests need to move a little when you are fed and beveraged so well! The nightly dance shows were FANTASTIC - those dancers work so hard and such good quality. Their shows meant a lot to us and made it very Cuban. My only suggestion to the hotel, is to maybe pass a hat around at the end of the show or something to allow people to give them a little tip. That's about it! Good job!
