We stayed from the o8th- 15th of May 2011. We thought that heaven was on earth while We were there. Not one complaint, food is excellent and varied, staff are pleasant and always willing to help you in anyway possible. The beach is nice and clean and for the tourists they are just like one big family everybody seems to enjoy mixing and talking to strangers and making friends. So I would recommend this site as one of the best in Cuba. Hola

Excellent friendly & welcoming staff, from guest services, to the kitchen staff & grounds-keepers.
Did not want to leave at the end of our week's stay.

I absolutely recommend this resort. Everything is close. The food is great and nicely surprising (orange yogurt, banana-maple crepe, beach house grill...). It was nice and warm in March. Pool pleasant enough. Beach was close and handy, but nice that you could walk to next door Sol beach too for an excursion - it's quite spectacular to walk the low tide. Lots of entertainment. Audaces de Hoy is a most pleasant Cuban quartet with great vocal harmonies, playing at the beach house restaurant at lunch. The music in the lobby bar was mostly good although could use more danceable cuban music, and encouragement for the audience to do some latin dancing - why are people so shy??? The activity crew was great - encouraging guests to participate in dance lessons, volleyball in the pool, yoga, etc... Those girls are the best - and really made it fun - guests need to move a little when you are fed and beveraged so well! The nightly dance shows were FANTASTIC - those dancers work so hard and such good quality. Their shows meant a lot to us and made it very Cuban. My only suggestion to the hotel, is to maybe pass a hat around at the end of the show or something to allow people to give them a little tip. That's about it! Good job!

We arrived at the Melia Cayo Coco on 31st March 2011 late at night, and were amazed to find the Pool Side bar open for something to eat. The staff were amazing, no matter where you went, they were all very eager to help and unbelievalby friendly. Beach was great (although more Palapas needed) and the water was crystal clear. Food was the best I have experienced in Cuba (better than RHE and Paradisus Rio De Oro) the buffet was the best part, so many choices and all well prepared. If there is one downside, it was our room (8913) it was damp and had mold on the walls, even had a large Cockroach visit one evening.. Other than the room, it was a great time and a great location
