Havana, 10 October 2017. Meliá Cuba announces the reopening of hotels affected by Hurricane Irma in Cayo Santa María, Cayo Coco, Cayo Guillermo and Varadero.
Cooperation with the Cuban tourism authorities and the dedicated efforts of the hotels’ workers have made it possible to repair the facilities that were damaged by the severe weather phenomenon whose trajectory along the island’s northern coast affected Jardines del Rey, Cayo Santa María and Varadero.
Meliá Cuba has taken advantage of the temporary shutdown of the facilities to repair and improve the hotels and offer updated products for the high season.
The hotels Meliá Península Varadero and Paradisus Varadero both in Varadero will reopen on 15 October.
In Cayo Santa María, the Meliá Cayo Santa María and the Meliá Las Dunas hotels will reopen their doors on 1 November and Meliá Buenavista and Sol Cayo Santa María will reopen on 15 November.
In Jardines del Rey, the hotel Sol Cayo Coco will reopen on 17 October, Meliá Cayo Guillermo will start operating again on 20 October, and Meliá Jardines del Rey will reopen on 1 November. Meliá Cayo Coco will be operational from 4 November and Sol Cayo Guillermo will start receiving guests again on 15 November.
