My husband and I was there in 2007. It is by far the BEST resort we have ever been to. This yr we encouraged our friends to have their wedding at this resort, because they want the best, of course. WE will be with a party of close to 30...two of us couples are staying on for an extra week. See you all in April 21.

My husband and I stayed here from feb 6-13/11 and loved every minute of it. would go back in a heart beat. It was our anniversary on the 7th and we could not get reservations for that day for the a la carte but the next night we went to the romantico and had flowers placed all over our table, got to sit next to the grand piano and was warmly greeted with a congratulations , also at the end of the meal we could have had dessert that was on the menu or a cake, we choose the dessert on the menu cause it sounded awesome and was. We had the best gardener ever, his name was Cristo and warmly greeted us everytime we passed by also I always had a flower for my hair, he even gave me a bouquet of flowers one morning as I was sitting on my deck, and the morning we left we got a knock on the door and there was our favorite person on the resort with but of course a couple of flowers. Cubans love tips and if you tip you get good service, the men always seem to be happy the women are a bit more reserved but if you engage in conversation with them you may find you have somethings in common and also they will warm up to you. Ask them if they have children usually brings a smile to their faces if they do. The beach is the most beautiful beach I have ever seen with huge grains of white sand. You will not go hungry, our favorites was omelettes, dounuts, coco ice cream and fried chicken from the beer garden. The rooms are clean and we had hot water everyday and shower pressure was decent all week. Take advantage of the lobby bar at night and the shows they are great and don't miss the Miss Las Dunas show, you will have a good laugh and participate you will have much more fun. All in all I would rate this resort a 5 star and can't wait to return and hopefully bring my kids and meet up with our friendly gardener Cristo.

I loved Melia las dunas!!! First of all i went with my dad and sister. the people are super friendly and big shout out to Enery!! Tips are genuinely appreciated by the staff but get you far. The beaches are wonderful as are the pools. You can get a catty service to pick you up to travel from restaurant to pool or home or to entertainement. The entertainement was good, tropical dances every night and a disney themed show as well. Cuban bands at night rocked also. The food was great, my favorites were Romantico and the intertanional buffet and the breakfast restaurant where they make you fresh omelettes tailored to your liking. Avoid the grill bar outside not too tasty. The hotel itself is like spanish colonial style and the reception lounge is very relaxiing with water close by. I went with air canada vacations and it was great. A big voyageur like bus, brought you from the airport to the resort and to the city pubelo for artisans souvenirs. i cant wait to go back!!! ps, helps to speak the language we were treated really well once they could communicate with us:)

Just returned from a Wonderful week in Las Dunas.The staff was unbelievable ,we received 5 Star treatment.Food GREAT you will not be hungry at Las Dunas,. You will eat and eat and eat l.Room very clean .Beach , white sand and turquise water. I could not have dreamed of better vacation. I RECOMMMEND THIS HOTEL .you will not be disappointed
