This was the first time my boyfriend or I had been to Cuba, and all in all it was fantastic. We had seen an internet offer and snapped it up. We had the week for the pair of us at £1000 all in flying with Thomas Cook from Manchester. We thought this was great but found out that other people had paid the same as us for 16 nights! However, this wasn't necessarily a good thing...

We wanted this holiday to sit on the beach and have some quality time together, and that is exactly what we got. I had read some reviews moaning there was nothing to do, but to be honest when we both have hectic lifestyles, the thought of that was paradise. And paradise it certainly was...in summary the pool area was beautiful, the beach was gorgeous (our pics are magical!), the food was good (could get boring after a week though), and the weather was amazing. The staff were good, the drinks flowing, and the italian restaurant was lovely. Don't bother with the Cuban grill though.

our room was quiet, the beds huge, and clean. unlike anyone else we had no cockroaches, scorpions or ants...it was lovely! Just cover yourself in DEET (Jungle Formula all the way) and you will be fine. I think we only really got bitten when we were in the lobby waiting to leave. the maids were brill too.

the highlight of my holiday was when a lady in the breakfast room sliced up a fresh mango for me every day, the juice man played his harmonica, and when a gardener cut down a coconut and put a straw in it for me to drink. It was out of this world actually.

go to this hotel, but dont expect to be dancing until the sunrise. just chill out and unwind...I definatley won't be forgetting it in a hurry and would recommend it to couples who want some quality time with the most romantic backdrop I have ever seen.
