This year, the Meliá Las Américas Hotel in Varadero, will host several tournaments as part of the efforts to consolidate its position as leader of the golf segment in Cuba.
Among the events scheduled are: the Montecristo Cup (April 2 - 21), Solways Tournaments (June 8-10), Havanatur (June 21 - 23), Caribbean Golf Cup (October 1 - 4), and 4th Meliá Cuba Cup (October 25 - 27).
Meliá Las Américas is recommended by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO), due to its special programs and attentions to golfers. The facilities and services offered to players include personalized check-in, special cocktail for golfers, breakfast exclusively for players leaving the hotel before opening hours of the buffet restaurant, golf included during the summer, special Green Fee price at the hotel front desk, free golf rounds for guests accommodated in luxury rooms, golf clinic offered by golf professionals and spouse programs.
Every year, this five star all-inclusive hotel designed only for adults over 18 years of age, is venue of the Meliá Cuba Golf Cup.
Registration fee is 150 CUC, and includes a welcome pack (t-shirt, cap, golf balls and a bottle of rum), green fees before, during and after the tournament; golf cart, refreshments during the two rounds of the competition and the awards dinner.
Players will compete in the stroke play mode, both in categories for ladies and for gentlemen. If a player's handicap has not endorsed by his/her association, the Callaway scoring system will apply.
The two best net and gross scores in each category will be awarded with a free one-week stay for two in a Meliá Cuba All Inclusive Hotel.
Other skills, such as the straightest and the longest drive, including the drive closest to the flag, will also be awarded.
