2010-11-17
The five hotels operated by Sol Meliá Cuba in both Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo now offer customers specialized diving and sport fishing tourist packages. Available at the Meliá Cayo Coco, Meliá Cayo Guillermo, Sol Cayo Coco, Sol Cayo Guillermo y Tryp Cayo Coco hotels, for a total of 1 597 rooms. The offer covers accommodation plus diving and sport fishing packages, the latter in collaboration with Marlin Nauticas and Marinas. Thus, Sol Meliá Cuba continues to diversify its hotels for the purpose of differentiating them from the competition, providing a more specialized product with higher quality standards which builds confidence in the key tourist markets. Special treatment, personalized welcome, rooms located near the sea, exclusive facilities, reservation in a la carte theme restaurants guaranteed and other added values are among the offers in the specialized tourist package. The diving program (for certified divers only) includes four dives during a minimum stay of five-nights, while the sport fishing packages include fly and deep sea fishing, with one half-day sea trip during the stay in each case. These programs are the result of the collaboration between Sol Meliá Cuba and the Marlin Nautical and Marinas' branch in Jardines del Rey, north of Ciego de Avila province, some 500 km east of Havana. There are more than 30 dive sites in the sea surrounding Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo, situated along a large coral reef about 1-2 miles from these islets, with warm clear waters at depths ranging from 5 to 40 meters and an abundance of fish species according to season. In the area there are three diving centers: Blue Diving, located on the beach of the Meliá Cayo Coco Hotel, Coco Diving, located at the Tryp Cayo Coco Hotel and Green Moray at the Meliá Cayo Guillermo Hotel. For fishing enthusiasts, Marlin offers the Cayo Guillermo International Marina and Aguas Claras and Paredón nautical centers, both in Cayo Coco.
