Hotel Sol Pelicano l , in Cayo Largo del Sur, reopened its doors after undergoing a major refurbishment process geared at improving the comfort of its facilities and services.
Tourists from Argentina, Russia, Canada and Spain were the first guests accommodated in this 4-star All-Inclusive resort with 307 rooms.
Exteriors were painted, the marquetry in the buffet restaurant replaced and rooms redecorated which now exhibit a warm Caribbean ambience. Reforms were also carried out last year, such as the redecoration of the lobby, reception, rooms, swimming pool area and restaurants, including maintenance work of the infrastructure. The reopening of Sol Pelicano coincides with the rehabilitation of the beach affected by the strong waves caused by the passing of hurricane Gustav last August.
The movement of the marine currents and chemical origin of the sand dune made it possible to gradually and recover the original beach without having to bring in sand.
The property is especially recommended for family vacations, Sol Pelicano is located alongside 600 meters of fine white sand which is always cool despite the hot sun rays.
