Sol Meliá Cuba announced its new programs for the coming year in a meeting which gathered tour operators, travel agents, airline representatives and members of the specialized media. Among the guests present were Maria Elena Lopez, Vice-Minister of Tourism; Francisco Camps, Sol Melia´s representative in Cuba and Gabriel Garcia and Director of the Marketing and Sales Cuba Division.
The renovation of hotels Sol Rio de Luna y Mares and Sol Cayo Guillermo; expansion of the weddings portfolio; new Luxury Rooms program; development of the infrastructure for
Incentive Trips; Paradisus Resorts and the New Communications Campaign are among the leading proposals for 2009.
The announcement was made by Sven Boen, Sol Meliá Cuba Communications Manager, who reiterated the company's assurance to continue betting on Cuba as a leading tourist destination in the Greater Antilles.
Boen also thanked Sol Meliá Cuba's associates for their contribution in the attainment of the targets set for 2008, geared at increasing the levels of satisfaction of clients.
The meeting was held in the Salon Cetro of the elegant Meliá Cohiba Hotel in Havana as part of the Christmas and New Year's festivities.
The evening was livened with performances by the innovative Rakatan Ballet; Vocal Sampling, who sing without musical accompaniment and Grupo Shamela.
