CONDITIONS

- The competition is divided into two categories:
Fauna: Mainly, although not exclusively, fish, since this category can include invertebrate species and large marine mammals, turtles, birds, etc. Half water and half land photos are permitted.
Environment: Photographs showing the general appearance of various seabed types (e.g. coral reefs, shipwrecks, remains of human constructions, seaweed meadows, sandy bottoms, etc.).
- Participants must be certified as divers of organisations that are members of the RSTC or CMAS, have a current medical certificate of fitness and sign the disclaimer document that will be provided at the beginning of the event.
- Each participant must select one photo to compete in each category.
- The organising committee reserves the right to accept or reject any camera or housing model that can be manipulated.
- Participants can use lighting equipment, filters, masks and lenses that they deem appropriate. Cameras with wireless transmission capabilities will not be allowed.
- As many photos can be taken as time permits, and only in JPEG format. TIFF or RAW can be used as long as the camera allows photographs to be taken jointly in these formats. Only images in JPEG format can be downloaded from the card.
- The photographs can only be modified or manipulated on or by the camera.
- The competition dives will take place at four previously selected dive sites that all competitors must pass through.
- Prizes:
A 1st place will be awarded for each category.
The prizes will consist of:
A trophy designed by an artisan.
A stay in a Meliá Cuba hotel with a companion for each category.

COMMENTS

Dive:
- The maximum recommended depth will be 12m and the maximum allowable depth will be 25m.
- The competition time per dive will be one hour.
- Participants can use equipment available at the diving centre at Marina Gaviota Varadero.
- Every boat will have a judge assigned to it. This judge will provide all the necessary support and information. It is an obligatory requirement for all contestants to ensure that the first photo on the submitted card is of the judge assigned to their boat.
- Contestants will be provided with the means (tables, towels, etc.) to dry their cameras and safely remove the cards. This will take place in the Paradisus Princesa del Mar hotel overseen by the person appointed to collect the cards and submit them for downloading.

Photograph Submission:
- A room will be set up with computers to review and select photographs.
- Each photographer will be given a password to access their session, which will contain subfolders for each category where they can place the photos they choose to enter into the competition.
- Each contestant will receive an access password and pseudonym decided by a draw that will take place during the information meeting.
- Photos that are not in the contestant’s SELECTION folder will not be entered into the competition.
- No photos can be submitted after 16.00 hours on the second day of competition.

Entry fee: 75 CUC per person (does not include accommodation, only the activities associated with the program of the event)
